Poulson, Rebekah

Piano, Violin

Rebekah Poulson competed a Bachelor degree in violin performance and piano pedagogy from the University of Utah. She performed and taught extensively in Utah before beginning her studies at the University of Washington. There she completed her master’s degree in violin performance, studying with Steven Staryk.

Prior to moving to Wenatchee she performed with Northwest Sinfonietta, Tacoma Symphony, Federal Way Symphony and the Bellevue Symphony. She also taught private lessons through the University of Puget Sound and the Charles Wright Academy. In addition to working with the advanced students she worked with local Montessori Schools and developed programs for young children that introduced them to musical concepts and early music education.

When Rebekah moved to Wenatchee in 1995 she again established a private music studio. She has maintained an active private studio since that time. She performed with the Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra serving as the concert master for 20 years. After a battle with cancer she returned and continues to perform with them. She has soloed with the Wenatchee Symphony on several occasions and has also soloed with the Lake Chelan Bach Fest Orchestra. She continues to perform locally.

Rebekah believes in the vital, positive, and powerful effect of music education in the lives of children, youth, and people of all ages. She is committed to helping her students discover a love of music and obtain the highest level of skill possible. She teaches both the violin and the piano and loves to see her students progress and succeed in their music journey.
